Agusan del Norte | The Agusan del Norte Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ANECO) recently conducted an onsite visit to residents of Sitio Lavintik and Sitio Ihap, both located in Barangay San Antonio, Remedios T. Romualdez (RTR), to evaluate the impact of the electrification project that brought electricity to the communities in December 2024.
The electrification was made possible through a province-funded initiative led by Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante, Governor of Agusan del Norte, aimed at expanding access to electricity in remote and underserved areas of the province.
The visit was conducted to assess how the energization has affected the lives of residents and to gather feedback on the progress and improvements experienced by the communities since gaining access to electricity. The ANECO team also checked the current condition of the electrical facilities and discussed with residents the benefits and changes brought by the electrification program.
The ANECO delegation was led by Atty. Rhodora Lim, Manager of the Corporate Communications and Public Relations Office (CCPRO), together with Engr. Romulo Deferia, Branch 1 Manager. During the visit, the team interacted directly with residents to better understand their experiences and observe how electricity has contributed to improvements in daily living, education, and livelihood opportunities.
Residents from Sitio Lavintik and Sitio Ihap expressed their appreciation for the electrification project, noting that the availability of electricity has brought greater convenience to households, improved safety during nighttime, and opened new opportunities for development within their communities.
ANECO highlighted that follow-up visits such as this are part of the cooperativeโs continuing efforts to ensure that electrification projects remain sustainable and responsive to the needs of communities across Agusan del Norte.
